First Jim Kotzuba, Then Chief Holloway, Now Tom Champion!?

Yes, Ward 5 Onliners, the story is true! Tom Champion, the golden voice of Somerville is moving on to become the Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communication at Bluewater Holdings in Needham. Tom blogged the details of the lucky new company in the comments section of a Somerville Journal Blog posting just this morning.

This announcement comes in a long line of losses for the City of Somerville in the past few months. Jim Kotzuba left in December of 2009, followed by Chief Holloway who dropped the Florida or Bust bomb soon after Kotzuba and, just when we all thought things were settling down on Highland Avenue, Tom Champion is jumping ship and taking his "Barry White of Somerville" voice with him.

The Uhaul trucks at City Hall have this writer thinking: are they in on something we don't know? Could there be some more serious shake-ups happening? Is Mayor Joe thinking this may be his last term in Somerville and spreading the word early prompting some of his most beloved to leave for other paycheck providers? Only time will tell, but for now, what are your thoughts?
