Green Line Extension Project Land Use Workshops

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is hosting a series of land use planning workshops associated with the Green Line Extension Project. After an overview presentation about the Green Line Extension project, participants will have a chance to share knowledge about their neighborhoods and to express their priorities and concerns about future land uses around the station areas. These workshops will focus on areas around the planned stations, while future workshops will focus on the stations themselves.

The Somerville-specific session is scheduled for:
Saturday, June 12, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Somerville - Argenziano School Cafetorium: This meeting format will be a combined SomerVision and Green Line Extension Project Open House. Activities will focus on public ideas for the areas around future Green Line stations in Somerville and feedback on Somerville's visioning and comprehensive planning process.

Other sessions will be held at:
Wednesday, May 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Medford - Columbus Elementary School: This meeting will be an opportunity to gather public ideas and suggestions for the areas around future MBTA Green Line Extension stations at Ball Square and College Avenue.

Wednesday, May 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Cambridge - Kennedy Longfellow School: This meeting will focus on public ideas and suggestions for the area around the future relocated Lechmere station.

For language or access accommodations, please contact Regan Checchio, Regina Villa Associates, 617-357-5772 ext. 14 or rchecchio@reginavilla.com at least one week before the event.

Although the workshops will focus on the station areas identified here, the DOT will be happy to take comments on other station areas as well.
