It is with deep regret and humiliation that I admit that my comment about a $24,000 pay raise for one person was a severe miscalculation on my part. In reviewing the FY2010 in comparison to the FY2011 budgets, I did notice significant pay raises that totaled over $24,000 in various departments. Pay raises that I felt were not necessary given the economic climate.
This mistake is completely my fault and I am deeply regretful for it and apologize for any confusion or anger it may have caused. The budget sessions bring out a lot of emotion in people, however (clearly), I need to do a better job keeping mine in check.
