Greenline Extension Update


MassDOT and the MBTA are hosting two educational public meetings in support of the Green Line Extension project. The presentations at the two meetings will be the same. The meetings will outline the guidelines and requirements used by the MBTA to design successful stations.


 September 28 - Argenziano School (Cafetorium), 290 Washington Street, Somerville
 September 29 - Medford City Hall (Council Chambers), 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford

Each meeting will begin at 5:30 pm with an "Introduction to the Green Line" presentation. New material will be presented starting at 6:15 pm.

Field Survey: Week ending 10/1/10

 Survey of drainage system inverts* within the Lowell Line Commuter Rail corridor (postponed from a previous date)

*Inverts are elevations of the interior bottom of the existing drain pipes measured at a drainage structure.

Boring Program: Weeks ending 9/24/10 and 10/1/10:

 Borings within the MBTA Lowell Commuter Rail right-of-way at Medford Street in Somerville
 Borings between the MBTA Fitchburg Commuter Rail right-of-way and the Boston Engine Terminal in Somerville
 Borings within the MBTA Lowell Commuter Rail right-of-way from Harvard Street in Medford to Cross Street in Somerville

Boring typically occurs between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM on weekdays.
