Remember That Single-Stream Recycling Program That Was Supposed To Start In July? It's Starting In September!

Somerville is launching a Single Stream Recycling Pilot program. As part of this new program, residents in the pilot area will receive a new 65 gallon recycling cart. You can place ALL of your recycled goods - newspapers and other paper, bottles, cans, and plastic goods numbered 1-7 into this cart. The best part of this new program is that it eliminates the need to sort any of these materials! No more need to break down cardboard, and sort paper. Everything ends up in the same place! If you live in the area shown in the above map, you will be receiving your new free recycling cart near the end of September.
