Green Line Extension Meeting Scheduled While Field Work Continues




The next meeting of the Green Line Extension Design Working Group will take place on November 8th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at 51 Winthrop Street in Medford. The building can be reached via MBTA bus routes 80, 94, and 96. Parking is available on Boston Avenue along Capen Street Extension, in the Dowling Parking Garage and surface lots near Miller Hall and Hill Hall (Tufts University buildings). Please note that disabled parking is available next to the building and that the public is welcome to attend the meeting. Public seating will be available on a first-come/first-served basis and public comments will be accepted for a limited time at the end of each meeting.

Field Survey: Weeks ending 10/29/10 and 11/5/10:
  • No survey work scheduled.
Boring Program: Weeks ending 10/29/10 and 11/5/10:
  • Borings within the MBTA Fitchburg Commuter Rail right-of-way between McGrath Highway and the Boston Engine Terminal in Somerville
  • Borings within the MBTA Lowell Commuter Rail right-of-way between Cedar Street and Washington Street in Somerville
  • Borings within the MBTA Lowell Commuter Rail right-of-way between Harvard Street in Medford and Broadway in Somerville
  • Maintenance facility borings off Third Avenue in the Inner Belt area of Somerville
Boring typically occurs between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM on weekdays.

Please note that, as field work continues along the future Green Line Extension right-of-way, passing trains are required to blow their whistles whenever they are within the areas of the field work.
