Both Unions and residents have planned a rally at the site formerly known as Max Pak on Thursay December 2nd from 6-9am. Despite numerous requests from Union Representatives and residents, both KSS Realty and GFC Development Incorporated have not been receptive to negotiating a Project Labor Agreement or discussing a “Community Workforce Agreement” to ensure that local residents are hired to work on the 199 unit project located at 56-61 Clyde Street.
For those of you playing at home, Alderman-At-Large Bruce Desmond recently submitted order #190404 : (That this Board urges KSS Realty, and their partners to employ union labor for all aspects of construction at the MaxPak site and to give preference to qualified Somerville residents when hiring employees for all construction work performed at the site), through the Board of Alderman.
