Housing and Community Development Committee Meeting: POSTPONED!

Due to school vacations, this meeting has been postponed to allow as many families and city officials to attend as possible. I apologize for the short notice, however, I will post new meeting information as it becomes available. ~Courtney O'Keefe


Magoun Square tops the agenda for the upcoming Housing and Community Development Committee scheduled for Wednesday April 20th at 6pm, being held in the second floor committee room of City Hall.



All residents, business owners and patrons of Magoun Square are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting to voice your concerns, observations and suggestions. If you are unable to make the meeting, please email Alderman Sean O'Donovan (Chair), Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz, and Alderman-At-Large Dennis Sullivan with your thoughts!


The agenda is as follows:
• 189106: Discussion That the Executive Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development Meet with the Magoun Square Businesses and the Ward 5 Alderman to Develop a Plan for Magoun Square to Stimulate Business, All in Anticipation of 2015 Green Line Arrival.

• 189430: Discussion That the Executive Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development Apprise This Board of Aldermen of Any Past or Anticipated Utilization of the Massachusetts Economic Development Incentive Program by the City of Somerville and Appear Before the Committee on Housing and Community Development to Discuss the Program.

• 189727: Discuss in Committee That the Director of SPCD Report in Writing to the Committee on Housing and Community Development on the Results of the Meeting with the Magoun Square Business Owners and the Ward Five Alderman, to Discuss Parking and Other Issues Affecting the Decline in Business in Magoun Square.

• 189817: Discuss in Committee Conveying an update on the city-wide comprehensive plan known as SomerVison.

• 190783: Recommend Requesting that this Board accept this report on the update to the Comprehensive Plan and provide comments on it to SPCD staff.

• 190746: Discuss in Committee That this Board requests that the Community Action Agency of Somerville present to this Board their anti-poverty services, plans for the upcoming year, and the work they coordinate with other community organizations in the city.
