School Budget Hearings Scheduled

Dear Friends,

The School Committee is reviewing its budget for fiscal year 2012 (July 1, 2011– June 30, 2012). We will be discussing the budget at three meetings during thenext week:

Wednesday, June 8th – 7:00 p.m. – Somerville High School library: PUBLICHEARING on the Superintendent’s proposed budget. The Superintendent will make apublic presentation of his budget to the School Committee. PUBLIC COMMENT ISWELCOME!

Thursday, June 9th – 7:30 p.m. – 42 Cross Street: Finance & FacilitiesSchool Committee meeting to vote on School Department budget. We will reviewthe Superintendent’s budget and make a decision on which budget we will forwardto the Mayor.

Monday, June 13th – 6:00 p.m. – City Hall: Mayor presents the entire Citybudget, including the school budget, to the Board of Aldermen.

Budget material will be available on the School Department website as soon as today. Look for material labeled “FY12”.
