Today marks the last day to submit nomination papers to the to the Board of Election Commissioners. Nominees have until 5pm and need 100 signatures for School Committee and Ward Alderman; Alderman at Large need 150 signatures.
As of right now, the only races for Alderman are in Wards 3, 4 and 7 with a School Committee race in Ward 3. There are also Alderman at Large candidates, as well. All certified candidates will have their names and addresses posted outside of the Elections Department on July 14th. It will be on this day that the Election 2011 page will be updated with candidate names and links. Ward 5 Online has decided not to give a questionaire for this election season and no endorsements will be made on the website.
Both representatives from Ward 5, Sean O'Donovan (Alderman) and Mark Niedergang (School Committee) are running unopposed this year. Their information is in their respective pages here on the website which are linked through their names.
