Board of Alderman To Resume Meetings After Summer Break


The Board of Alderman will hold their regularly scheduled meeting in the Aldermanic Chambers of City Hall tonight at 7pm. This meeting is open to the public and all residents/concerned citizens are encouraged to attend.

You can watch the meeting live on Channel 16 (Comcast) or Channel 13 (RCN). This meeting will be rebroadcast at various times throughout the week, as well as, streamed live on the internet. A video of the meeting is saved on the City's Meeting Portal under the Recent Media header.

The agenda is posted on the City's Meeting Portal 48 hours before the scheduled meeting time.

10. Resolution By Ald. Trane, Roche, Desmond, Pero, Sullivan, Gewirtz, Connolly, O’Donovan
That this Board requests that the MA Secretary of Transportation, or his designee, appear before this Board to discuss revised timelines for the construction of the Green Line Extension into Somerville.

13. Order By Ald. O’Donovan
That the Commissioner of Public Works install a raised crosswalk across Albion Street at the Albion Park Playground.

14. Order By Ald. O’Donovan
That the Commissioner of Public Works report to this Board’s Committee on Public Utilities and Works on the repaving of Conwell and Francis Streets.

15. Resolution By Ald. O’Donovan
That this Board requests that the Traffic Commission institute 2:30 AM - 8:30 AM parking restriction zones abutting Magoun Square to assist in the economic enhancement of the Square.

16. Resolution By Ald. O’Donovan
That this Board requests that the Administration submit to this Board a bond item request to replace the benches/seating at Trum Field.

17. Order By Ald. O’Donovan
That the Director of SPCD attend the Housing and Community Development Committee meeting on September 13, 2011 to discuss the economic enhancement of Magoun Square.

18. Order By Ald. O’Donovan
That the Director of Traffic and Parking place a sign at the exit of the CVS municipal parking lot, against Olde Magoun Saloon, indicating that a legal parking space is available.

19. Order By Ald. O’Donovan
That the Director of SPCD place several additional seating options at Albion Park, especially near the water source, as the present seating is insufficient.

23. Order By Ald. Desmond, O’Donovan, Taylor
That the Director of Traffic and Parking meet with the Aldermen and residents of Parker Place to discuss the issuance of parking tickets at Parker Place and Porter Street.
