The Committee on Finance will continue conversations on possibly joining the Group Insurance Commission as they reconvene tonight at 7pm in the second floor committee room of City Hall.
The only item on the agenda, legislative #191787: Requesting to amend the city’s health insurance benefits by transferring to the Group Insurance Commission (GIC), has already seen two meetings and a televised public hearing so far.
Mayor Joe Curtatone would like to meet a September 1st inclusion agreement date that would start the plan on January 1st and, according to city financial analysts, save over $9 million in the budget.
Ward 2 Alderman Maryann Heuston is hosting the meeting.
