Weekend Festivities!

Honk Fest 2011 starts tonight and runs all the way to Monday. Be sure to check out their schedule that includes parades through Davis Square and other events. This is an annual thing that has become a real Somerville tradition. Honk bands from all around descend on Davis for this fun, loud event!

The Somerville Homeless Coalition is having their 16th Annual 5K on October 1st at 9am with the starting line in Davis Square. There will be street closings, so be sure to check with the City of Somerville for information on that! Be sure to stand somewhere along the route and cheer on all those running for this great cause (I'm one of them).

Community Cooks will be hosting the Tastes of Community Cooks at the Somerville Museum on Sunday October 2nd from 4-7pm. It is described as An Exhibition of Food and Art at the Somerville Museum and has featured keynote speakers that include Mayor Joe Curtatone. Check out the Facebook invitation for information!

The Chamber of Commerce invites you to Oktoberfest 2011 in Davis Square on Sunday October 2nd from 12-6pm. Some of the best names in restaurants are participating including Red Bones, The Foundry, The Burren and more! Come by for entertainment, food and great brews!
