While looking through the City's Meeting Portal recently, two little thought bubbles caught my eye. Clicking on them revealed that the City is now opening up the contents of the portal to comment and discussion!
As a frequent commentor on Somerville media websites, the one BIG difference is that you have to sign up for an account before submitting your thoughts.
Commenting sections on both the Somerville Journal Blog and Somerville Voices require an email address, but not an account setup the way that Wicked Local requires. An email address is also needed to comment on The Somerville News website, but all comments are moderated before being posted. I decided to allow commentors to bypass providing an email address, comment anonymously, but I also moderate comments due to spammers.
