Farmer's Market Returns to Armory!

The Winter Farmer's Market has returned to the Armory (191 Highland Avenue) on Saturday's from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Featuring 24 vendors, the event has products ranging from fruits and vegetables to specialty cheeses, wine, and meats and is rounded out by live music and face painting.

The market will not be open on November 26th, but will be on December 24th and 31st for your last minute holiday needs. I think a bottle of Turtle Creek wine makes a beautiful gift for that wine lover in your family. Or, that local blogger you just love to read ;)

Prices for meats and fish can be on the expensive side, however, the savings from breads, vegetables, and fruits make your total bill reasonable. Today, I grabbed a 10-11oz haddock fillet from Globe Fish and some carrots and paid a total of $9. The markets accepts EBT, credit card, and (of course) cash. For plastic transactions, you can buy tokes at the door.

Also, don't forget that the Armory Cafe is now open and has food, drinks, and free WiFi (certain cafes should take note of this). It boasts local coffee, coffee-based drinks, beers, wine, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. So, be sure to have breakfast or lunch before or after doing your shopping at the market.
