One of my Favorite Lunch Spots...

Whenever I can get the opportunity to work from home, I find myself looking forward to grabbing lunch around Somerville! One of my favorite new spots that I'm loving is the Café at the Armory on Highland Avenue (191). As some of you may have heard, or read on the website, the cafe in the armory is open for business 7 days a week and serving Lavazza coffee.

My most recent lunch was the sunny beef made on marble rye with a side salad. I found everything to be delicious, fresh and filling. The sandwich was packed tall and the salad was just enough. Needless to say, I returned my plate empty.

Also available on the menu are a variety of sandwiches on artisan breads, salads, soups, cheese and/or meat plates with olives, and wonderful desserts such as gluten free chocolate cake and limoncello cake offered up by Dapper Dan Kallis. They are also featuring a line-up of delicious craft beers and wines with future plans to offer gelato!

The Arts at the Armory Café is now open from 9am-6pm Monday through Wednesday, 9am-10pm Thursday through Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sunday!

At night, the Café transforms into a great place to hear live music, participate in a poetry open mic, or hear literary readings such as the cool Ghost Story event I participated in!

The next time you're in the mood for a good lunch, stop by the Café and be sure to send me a note on how you felt about it!
