How's Your Garden Looking?

2012 Basil
The planting has been completed at my homestead and, this year, we are doing basil (see picture above), chives and tomato plants between the front garden and side yard strip. We also have an array of roses, tulips, gardenias, and weeds that will be pulled soon :)

How is your garden looking? What have you planted? Feel free to send pictures for publishing. And, no, you don't have to live in Ward 5 to submit pictures.

I swear this year I'm going to get them before the birds do....

We've been harvesting lettuce and herbs. And now we're just waiting for tomatoes!

@Mary

Try getting some tulle netting (last time I checked it was about a dollar a yard at Joanne's) and make a lollypop over the bushes! The blueberries will still get air and sun but the birds won't be able to get to them, or not all of them. You can skip to the masterclass by fastening the tulle to stakes driven around the bushes to give a wider buffer between the net and the birds.

Squirrels were killing me for a bit, but they've moved on, thank god. We have basil, parsley, and chives.
