Magoun Square Construction-Postponed

Beginning on Tuesday, June 5th – Thursday, June 7th from 9am-5pm road work will be conducted in the Magoun Square area.

**Thursday June 7th**
Construction will begin at Broadway from Trum Field to Medford Street. Due to the scope of work the following road closures and detours will be in place

• Construction will begin on the west bound side of Broadway in the morning and the east
bound side in the afternoon. During the scheduled work the road will be reduced to one
lane however traffic will flow all day in both directions.

• Charles E. Ryan Road and Hinckley Street will be open to abutters only.

Wednesday, June 6th and Thursday, June 7th (Remaining the same)
Construction will begin on Medford Street from Broadway to Partridge Avenue. Due to the scope of work the following road closures and detours will be in place

• The westbound traffic of Medford Street will be closed between 9:00 a.m.-
1:00 p.m., and only eastbound traffic will be allowed.

• The eastbound traffic of Medford Street will be closed between 1:00-5:00 p.m., and only
westbound traffic will be allowed.

Police details and detour signs will be posted in affected areas to assist with traffic flow during this period. Because these conditions may cause traffic delays, residents are advised to avoid or limit vehicular travel in this area when possible.

At the Ward 6 ResiStat meeting, I was told that this construction is necessary because the contractor didn't get it right the first time last year.

Hi Ron,

Yes, that is correct. The weather was far too cold & the tar did not set properly.
