Ordinance on Food Trucks to Remain in Committee

Due to questions on legality issues & a desire to have a committee meeting of the whole to have a full conversation, an ordinance proposed to regulate food trucks will remain in committee (Legislative).

At tonight's Board of Aldermen meeting, Ward 1 Alderman Bill Roche stated that he would not support the ordinance because he wanted a publicized public hearing to allow comments from both sides of the argument. There was no public hearing held, although, Chairperson Rebekah Gewirtz did entertain comments from meeting attendees. Roche went on to admit that he does not want food trucks in the city at all.

No meeting has been scheduled as of yet.
