Somerville’s Cooling Centers

To provide relief from the heat, the Council on Aging Center at 167 Holland St. and the Ralph & Jenny Center at 9 New Washington St. will be open until 8:00 p.m. this evening, and tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Cross Street Senior Center at 165 Broadway will also be open on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Water and air conditioning will be available at all cooling centers.

The city is asking residents to check on family and neighbors – especially those who are seniors, young children, or have physical limitations – in order to ensure their continued safety. If you or someone you know experiences a heat-related health or safety emergency, please dial 911 immediately.
