Armory to Stand Before ZBA Again on Wednesday

Armory (191 Highland Avenue)

After a September 5th hearing that included passionate arguments from both sides of the issue, the Armory will stand before the ZBA on Wednesday looking for approvals on a series of requests that, they say, will allow them to remain financially stable.

The Armory is looking for an increase in occupancy, expanded hours (early morning and evening), outdoor café seating, cooking in the café and the ability to apply for a liquor license.

A group of Abutters vehemently oppose some of the requests as they still live with loud noise and rowdy after-hours patrons and see their quality of life decreasing even more if the requests are approved-according to a Somerville Journal article. Certain members of the Board of Aldermen agreed and also spoke at the September 5th hearing.

The meeting is set for Wednesday September 19th at 6pm in the third floor community room of the VNA (259 Lowell Street). Please note there are other items on the agenda for that evening.
