Press Release: Harvest Fest 2012 presented by Eastern Bank

Local Beer, Food and Entertainment to Support Somerville Local First

SOMERVILLE (September 14th, 2012)—Somerville Local First, a nonprofit network working to build sustainable local economies, has announced its fourth annual Festival & Fundraiser – Harvest Fest 2012 held in two sessions on Saturday, October 27th, 2012 at Arts @ The Armory.

With its exceptional collection of food, drink, and fun, Harvest Fest 2012, presented by SLF Member Eastern Bank, will be one of the best tasting events of the year, all in celebration of Local. This is not your average ‘nonprofit gala’ and has become one of the most anticipated events in Greater Boston. Tickets are on sale now through the SLF website.

Somerville Local First Executive Director Kat Rutkin says: “We are thrilled to hold our 4th annual event. With a great variety of local breweries, restaurants and entertainers, this years event is shaping up to be the best one yet

The festivities will be broken down into two sessions, Session 1 from 1-5 pm and Session 2 from 6-10 pm, and will bring together the best businesses in the local movement all under one great roof at Arts @ The Armory.

Harvest Fest would be nothing without the beer; attendees will be able to sample unique brews from a wide selection of New England breweries. A number of locally-owned and operated Somerville restaurants will be highlighted at each session to satisfy every palate and participants will get a delicious serving of each.

Entertainment will be provided by Somerville darlings, Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library and DJ Nate Bluhm.

A current list of participants is available on the SLF website.

This is a ‘can’t miss’ event for supporters of strong local economies, beer lovers, foodies and all those who love Somerville. Harvest Fest has something to offer just about everyone.
