Little Girl, Big Parking Meters

Throughout my life I have had to come to the realization that certain things are, well, out of my reach! That glass on the top shelf of my kitchen cabinet, the snow on the roof of my Jeep Wrangler and, of course, that 6-pack in the cooler at Woody's.

Today, however, I have added one more thing to my list of reasons for asking, "Do you mind getting that for me?"

Technologically advanced, business district friendly, and credit card accepting parking meters can now be found in Magoun Square and can be easily accessed by anyone over 4' 11" tall.

Luckily, I can walk to Magoun Square because God only knows I can't park at any of these meters without a ladder.

Can someone let me know how they look from the top?

Are those ADA compliant?

Cause one more thing to have to rip out and redo means we are even slower at learning lessons than I thought.

No excuse! That's what those plastic black empty crates outside of CVS's back door are for.

Use Dunkin Donuts empty crates as a back-up if CVS's not there.

Regarding: "Are those ADA compliant?"

I wouldn't think so given their height and the fact that the meters are different heights as a whole.

Wonder where the disAbility advocates are?

Hahaha! This post made me laugh out loud as I am also really small (5'1") and I have had trouble with those same meters in other places!

Who is doing the planning around here? Is the DPW doing these installs? Boss Hog must be taller than I recall.

Who does the planning? That's not fair Courtney.

Although I have to double check, I believe it was shortened recently. Unless I grew four inches ;)
