I couldn't help but notice that a new hair salon will be occupying the space that once housed Magoun's only Fortune Teller. For those of you playing at home, the license request for this particula psychic caused quite a stir up at City Hall in, both, a full Board of Aldermen meeting and at a follow-up Legislative Matters Committee meeting.
Although covered, the windows are now featuring DaMata Hair Salon and a phone number. No community meetings were held, so I don't know much about the owners. This will be the second hair salon in Magoun which is also home to Marta's Hair Salon just a few doors down. Marta's changed hands a few years ago despite a beautiful renovation.
No official opening date was displayed.
