Traffic Commission to Meet Tomorrow Night
The Traffic Commission will meet tomorrow night with one of the agenda items involving Ball Square. Previous meetings have seen a request for a 15-minute parking spot being tabled for further review. The spot would be available upon the removal of the bike corral (for the winter months) by The Pub and Eat At Jumbo's in the square. This is item number 5 on the agenda. Currently, there are eleven short-term parking spots in the square.
The Commission will meet at 6pm in the TAB Building (167 Holland Street). The Commission is chaired by the Commissioner of Public Works. The other members of the Commission are: a representative of the Police Chief; a representative of the Fire Chief; the Chair of the Board of Aldermen’s Subcommittee on Traffic and Parking; and a citizen-at-large appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Board of Aldermen. Members include Thomas Graney, Stan Koty, Chairman, George Manzelli, Lt. James Polito and Ward 7 Alderman Bob Trane.

Sorry to hear this. Removing a bike corral for a 15 minute parking spot is a terrible idea.
The 15-minute spot would take effect when the corral was removed for the winter, not over the Spring and Summer.
Sorry for the confusion.

Why not just move one of the other spots in front of Jumbo's?
Ah, that makes more sense. Although I am a winter biker, there are definitely fewer of us on the road this time of year..
I like James's idea. Why not just move a 15 minute spot from another location in front of Jumbo's?
