National Grid Work for GLX to Begin in April

Starting April 3, 2013, National Grid Gas will be moving over a 6-inch gas line running under the intersection at Winchester Street and Harvard Street in Medford. This work is expected to run over the course of two weeks. This work will lead to improved drainage in the area.

The work is being done so the GLX contractor can install the new drainage pipe as part of Phase 1 construction. The GLX Project is replacing the aging existing 24-inch storm drain pipe with a new 30-inch pipe.

The National Grid gas line work will involve a single lane closure at Winchester Street and Harvard Street. Work will be done from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday only. National Grid Electric will be out in the same area soon after to move electrical lines for the same purposes.
