Road Race on Sunday

The running of the Rás na hÉireann will take place this Sunday, March 10th, at 11am and will result in some parking changes and MBTA re-routes.

According to BA Events, "The race course is an accurately wheel-measured 5Km, beginning and ending in famous Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts—a stop on the convenient MBTA Red Line.

It starts on Elm Street, in front of the Burren, the Sligo, and the Joshua Tree, and runs through an eclectic mix of great Somerville neighborhoods and tree-lined streets. It is mostly lightening flat, and includes Teele Square, Powderhouse Boulevard, and Ball Square. It runs past Tufts University, and it zips through Ball Square, by Trum Field down Cedar Street. It ends in Davis Square, on Highland Avenue."

5,000 runners and walkers will take to the streets of Somerville for this 5K that results in close to $1 Million in shared revenue for area businesses from post-race festivities.
