Meeting and Memorial Tonight

The Land Use Committee will hold a Public Hearing tonight on an ordinance amending the Somerville Zoning Ordinance section 7.11.9.2, seeking to separate Supermarkets from General Merchandise and Department Store in the use table and section 2.2 to add definitions of these uses. This meeting begins at 6pm in City Hall!

There will also be a 7:45pm vigil held on the City Hall concourse to honor the victims of Monday's tragedy. Please join Mayor Joe Curtatone as the City of Somerville takes a moment to remember and reflect. The vigil will also include a "healing ceremony," giving attendees the opportunity to speak to the crowd with messages of hope, support, and peace. Please join us to honor all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

What are the implications of the Zoning Ordinance 7.11.9.2? Anything in laymans terms?

I think that's the section of the zoning ordinance where supermarkets and stuff are defined.

Hi Spencer,

I have a printed version of the Zoning Ordinance in my home office. I'll take a look and let you know.
