The Word Around the Ward

The Board of Aldermen is on their summer break as President Bill White officially cancelled the last meeting in July and the first meeting in August. Sub-Committees still meet, however, the full Board won't be back until mid-August.

Returning back from their summer hiatus, expect the Board of Aldermen to tackle some interesting topics including rats, football programs and zoning changes. Meeting details will be posted as they become available.

Neighbors of Henry Hanson Park will be meeting this Saturday, July 20th, from 8-11am to clean the park and surrounding grounds. Anyone interested in helping can meet at the park, located on the corner of Partridge Avenue and Medford Street at 8am.

Just a reminder that the SomerMovie Fest continues tonight with a showing of The Fugitive at Seven Hills Park in Davis Square. The theme for this year is Class of 1993 with movies starting just after sunset.

It's mid-July and that means one thing...ArtBeat. The Davis Square event will be starting on Friday night, 7/19 (6-10pm) and  run on Saturday, 7/20 (11am-6pm). This year's theme: micro!

Just a reminder that candidates will be out there door-knocking and making appearances at block parties. Be sure to ask questions and voice your concerns!

Lexington Park group's Wheels and Wagons SomerPlay event will be happening this Sunday from 9:30-12:30 on the Community Path next to Lexington Park (between Cedar and Willow). There's more info on the event on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lexingtonpark/

Not impressed with art beat anymore because it's turned in to a big flea market.
