Blood Drive in Ward 5

That's me donating blood for the first time in
2012.
The American Red Cross will be taking over the Armory on March 5th from 2:00-7:00pm to conduct a blood drive in Ward 5!

Thanks to Mother Nature, more than 450 blood drives have been cancelled due to weather making the need for increasing the inventory all the more critical.

To participate in this week's drive, please call 1-800-733-2767 or schedule an appointment online to help out! Be sure to bring your Red Cross Blood Donor card or other form of ID to your appointment.

As a proud, card-carrying blood donor, I cannot stress the importance of donating enough! So many members of our community need blood transfusions in times of trauma or just to stay alive with various diseases, including and especially, sickle cell disease that effects 70,000 people annually!

This is your chance to step up and help those in need. You never know...you may need a blood transfusion at some point in your life!

Just one pint of blood can save up to three lives and someone needs blood every two seconds in the U.S.

Please feel free to email me pictures of any Ward 5 residents that donate blood for a public 'thank you' posting on this website!
