The Word Around the Ward


So, here I was thinking I would get flack for attending a meeting about a new Korean restaurant in Davis Square, but I actually got a shout-out from one of my favorite online food resources! Boston Eater.Com picked up my recap of Monday night's community meeting and featured it on their Somerville page

The Rodent Issues Special Committee will conveniently be meeting on March 17th to discuss the Rodent Task Force. The meeting starts at 6:00 PM in the second floor committee room of City Hall-this is not designated as a public hearing.

The 30-pack bandit struck again on Monday, this time leaving a Miller Lite cube on a Richardson Street porch. The saga continues...

The City of Somerville Office of Assessors reminds all residential property owners that the deadline for filing statutory, residential or Community Preservation Act (CPA) exemption for Fiscal Year 2014 is April 1, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

The Board of Aldermen will be holding a Special Meeting tonight to discuss a 129-signature petition to divest Retirement Pension money out of Fossil Fueled companies. The meeting starts at 6:00pm in the Aldermanic Chambers of City Hall.

The revolving door of City Hall continues to spin, this time letting David Lutes out as he will be pursuing other opportunities. David served as the Director of the Office of Sustainability and Environment and has brought some great green initiatives to the City. I wish him the best of luck!
