The Word Around the Ward

I wonder when the not-so-secret-anymore Mayoral Candidate will make their official announcement that they are running? For those of you playing at home, candidates have been announcing runs earlier and earlier--making me wonder if this person will do the same?

Speaking of candidates, could there be a race in Ward 3 again? That's the word around the ward if a certain political organization in Somerville can decide between their two strongest candidates to go up against Bob McWatters.

The Somerville Arts Council will hold a picnic on Thursday May 21st at Powderhouse Park from 6:30pm until 8pm. This event will take place rain or shine.

City Hall was packed on Thursday night to honor Former Ward 3 Alderman Tom Taylor whose life in Somerville politics earned him the Alderman Emeritus title by Mayor Joe Curtatone and President of the Board of Aldermen Bill White. The funniest highlight, in my opinion, was the Pigeon Trophy courtesy of The Mayor and Vice President of the Board Jack Connolly (with assistance from former Ward 7 Alderman Bob Trane).

Big congratulations goes out to Ward 5 resident Laura Liston who graduated with her Master's in Nursing from Regis College. As a Regis Alum, I would like to welcome Laura to the club! Congratulations!

The Union Square Farmers Market will be returning this Saturday from 9am until 1pm and will run until November 22nd.
