Pride Flag Raising!

The City of Somerville kicked-off Gay Pride Month (a little early) on Thursday by raising the Pride Flag on the City Hall Concourse that featured members of the Somerville High School GSA, Alderman at Large Jack Connolly, State Representative Denise Provost, LGBT Liaison Elizabeth Field, many City Officials and a ton of supporters.

Both Alderman Connolly and Representative Provost noted that it was the ten-year anniversary of Massachusett's groundbreaking decision while Field tested the audience's same-sex marriage knowledge with a series of questions. Members of the High School's GSA then turned the handle, raising the rainbow colors alongside the American, MIA-POW and Municipal Flags.

I was so happy to capture the moments of this City supporting, not only me, but everyone who identifies themselves as LGBTQ.
