Somerville Arts Council presents Deborah Mason, Youth Dance Company in Magoun Square/CVS Parking Lot

Greg Jenkins writes, "Deborah Mason, who recently moved the school of dance to Somerville, will be presenting the History of Tap (HOT), a brief history and interpretation of the evolution of tap dance.

Youth Dance Program is a pre-professional dance company developed and designed for dedicated dance students. The company/YDP has performed for local schools and has toured to John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Wash, D.C., Smithsonian Museum Jazz Music Festival, Wash, D.C., and the Duke Ellington Theater, Wash, D.C

Deborah Manson School of Dance relies on support to ensure the enrichment of artistic education and youth development. By joining them, you will be sharing ownership of the issues that concern our whole community, and sharing the road to making the community a better place to live. The road to our community's future, an engaged community, is the only road to significant and lasting change.

The Youth Program provides access to dance by granting financial assistance, engaging in community outreach activities, and acting as an advocate for dance education.

The presentation is set for Saturday, June 7, at 7:00 PM with a rain date of Sunday June 8th.
