Road Race Will be Gobble Gobbling By...


Hello, this is Jackie Rossetti from the City of Somerville with information regarding the annual Gobble Gobble Road Race on Thursday, Nov. 27. 

Beginning at 9 a.m., roads in the Davis Square, Broadway, Medford Street and Summer Street areas may experience temporary traffic delays as runners pass by. The race route begins on Holland St., right onto Broadway, right on North St., right on Powderhouse Blvd., onto Broadway through Ball and Magoun Squares, right on Medford St., right on Central St., and right on Summer St., ending at Grove St. in Davis Sq. Please note that eastbound traffic on Holland St. will be detoured at Cameron Ave. between 9 and 9:30 a.m. at the start of the race.

Delays in these areas are expected to be temporary, and police details will be stationed in each area. If you have additional questions, please call 617-666-3311. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Enough with the road races impacting traffic patterns, costing taxpayers overtime dollars for police and DPW workers.

Okay one or two, but combined with other events that close down streets and squares to traffic; enough is enough.
