In regard to the business participating the Farmers Market.
1st) Given the freshness of the produce, etc., being offered; all well and good.
2nd)--Given the vendor's must cover their costs and show a profit.
But, given the elimination of a "middle" distributor's costs resulting in higher retail price points to the consumer when using their regular chain of distribution;
why are the Farmer's Market retail prices to the consumer so high?
Point: Without the expense of "middlemen" costs being reflected in the ultimate retail price points, the vendor's gross profit margin could and should be lower, and they can still show a decent net profit on their goods.
