The Word Around The Ward

In political news, John Caruso texted me that he's running for Alderman at Large. John is always there for candidates who need help, so it's no wonder that he would like to be the one on the ballot this year. Good luck to Johnny and anyone else considering a run. Monday May 11th will answer the burning question of who is running and for what as that is the newly approved day for candidates to pull papers.

The Ward 5 ResiStat meeting is set for Tuesday June 2nd at the Kennedy School. The meeting begins at 6pm with refreshments with a presentation, question and answer portion from 6:30 to 8pm.

7Ate9 Bakery has passed their final inspection and is ready to open their doors to the public very soon! Congratulations!

Cedar Street will be discussed on Monday May 18th, 6:30pm, in the third floor community room of the VNA as the street is set to be repaved this summer.

Members of the public will be presented with the latest design plans for the Community Path by the Green Line Extension Project Team on May 4th from 6-8pm in the Holiday Inn located at 30 Washington Street. Everyone interested in this exciting project are highly encouraged to attend this presentation.

There will be a follow-up community meeting on Monday May 11th at 6:30pm in the third floor community room of the VNA to discuss Lowell Street safety concerns and what steps will be taken this spring/summer as the Community Path is set to open.
