For the life of me I don't understand or agree with abutting or adjacent people living there, opposing a firehouse at that location.

A firehouse close to neighboring homes and businesses, in my opinion, should be comforting knowing 24/7/365 quick and rapid responses to local emergencies is a plus.

In some cases. with the coming and going of fire personnel, and on-site living quarters for every shift......fireman can spot a neighborhood problem before it becomes a major problem.

Corner of lowell Street and Somerville Avenue for many, many, years had an active 24/7/365 firehouse.

Firefighters, risking life and limb with every call, should be provided with the best the city can give them.
A modern firdhouse free from the problems that have developed over the years at the Union Square cite.

No--I am not a firefighter; nor is anyone in my family.
But if ever I and/or a member of my family needs help in a house fire
I want a fireman coming thru the window or door as quickly as possible to render help.
