Recent studies and inclusion in the City's Central Broadway Initiative has shed a lot of light on this Ward 5 business district located at the intersection of Broadway and Medford Street that includes Trum Field and numerous businesses.
Magoun Square is in the midst of a $3.1 Million revitalization through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 stimulus money. The project is slated for completion in Spring of 2013 with the reinstallation of the long-awaited Magoun Square sign, welcoming visitors to this great businesss district.
Since the start of construction, Magoun has experience a slight economic improvement with the addition of new businesses, better traffic flow through the Square, and the inclusion of MaxWells Green-a large residential development on Lowell Street.
Magoun Square is also in close proximity to a proposed Green Line Station located on Lowell Street and running alongside the MaxWells Green Development.
