From Tuesday, August 31st through Thursday, September 2nd, the MWRA will be making valve changes to the Northern Low Service system, that may potentially impact portions of Somerville. Customers MAY experience minor water discoloration during the next three days. Please note that NO water service interruptions will occur during this period.
While discolored water IS safe for drinking, cooking, and other uses, rust stains may appear on wet laundry, especially when bleach is used. If rust stains do occur, the clothes should not be dried, and you should call 311 for a free bottle of rust remover.
