Greenline Extension Field Work Continues

Field Survey: Week ending 10/8/10:

• Survey of drainage system inverts* within the Lowell Line Commuter Rail corridor (postponed from a previous date)
• Bridge survey within the Lowell Commuter Rail corridor at Cedar Street in Somerville

*Inverts are elevations of the interior bottom of the existing drain pipes measured at a drainage structure.

 Boring Program:Weeks ending 10/1/10 and 10/8/10:

• Borings within the MBTA Lowell Commuter Rail right-of-way at Medford Street in Somerville
• Borings within the MBTA Lowell Commuter Rail right-of-way from Harvard Street in Medford to Cross Street in Somerville
• Borings for the Green Line Extension vehicle and maintenance facility within the Inner Belt area of Somerville

Boring typically occurs between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM on weekdays.

Please note that, as field work continues along the future Green Line Extension right-of-way, passing trains are required to blow their whistles whenever they are within the areas of the field work.
